Protecting your privacy and your personal data is an important aspect of the way we create, organise and implement our activities on-line and off-line.

 

Our principal activities are:

·         The provision of web space for member doctors to advertise their services.

·         The provision of office services to member doctors (invoicing etc)

·         A means by which potential employers may search for the information published by the member doctors and communicate with them.

Use of Information we collect from you

Personal Information (locum doctors)

To register and use Locum Organiser (the Service) as a doctor you will be required to provide personal information such as your name and contact details.

To use all the services of Locum Organiser you will be invited to enter further personal and financial information. While this information is not required, it should be entered to gain the fullest use of the Service.

By submitting your personal information, you consent to the collection, use and transfer of your information in accordance with the terms of this privacy policy.

All personal information is volunteered by you. We do not collect information about our users from other sources, such as public records or bodies, or private organisations.

With the exception of your email address, all personally identifiable information provided by you will be used only for the purposes of providing the services you request from us and for contacting you in relation to the Service. We will not use such data for any other purpose without your prior consent. Such consent will be sought electronically on the web site.

Data collected from our locum users falls into two categories – that intended for private use and that intended for public use.

 

Private Use: This data is entered by you for your own use only. It will be kept secure from other users. An example of this data would be the fee earned for a particular piece of work or contact details you may enter for your employers.

 

Public Use: You may choose to publish some information on the public parts of the web site for the purpose of advertising your professional services. You should be aware that when you use this service, your data may be collected by other visitors.

The data which is to be made public will be clearly labelled as such and you will be able to inspect and modify that data.

Personal Information (GP practice users)

To register and use Locum Organiser (the Service) as a GP practce user you will be required to provide personal information such as your name and contact details.

By submitting your personal information, you consent to the collection, use and transfer of your information in accordance with the terms of this privacy policy.

All personal information is volunteered by you. We do not collect information about our users from other sources, such as public records or bodies, or private organisations.

Part of our service involves forwarding your contact details at your practice to those registered locum GPs who you elect to contact via the site. This is so that they may respond to your query.

With the exception of your email address, all personally identifiable information provided by you will be used only for the purposes of providing the services you request from us and for contacting you in relation to the Service. We will not use such data for any other purpose without your prior consent. Such consent will be sought electronically on the web site.

 

 

Non-Personal Information

We may use cookies and similar devices to facilitate the operation of the web site and track the usage of it. We will not store personal information in cookies or similar devices.

Non-Disclosure of Personal Information

We will not disclose your personal data to other organisations with the following exceptions

·         Where we are required to by law.

·         In the event of Locum Organiser being acquired by or merging with another organisation, personal information will be provided to that organisation solely for the purposes for which it was originally volunteered by you. This is in order to maintain the running of the Locum Organiser Service.

·         In common with many web-based services, Locum Organiser may use a third party hosting partner to provide the servers, internet connection and associated services required to provide the Locum Organiser Service.

·         This necessitates that the hosting partner having physical custody of the data. However, they may not use it for their own purposes and they are obliged to store the data securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

·         By using the Service you consent to our third party hosting partners having access to your personal data, including those outside the European Economic Area (EEA). We always ensure that your data is only transferred in full accordance with UK data protection laws. In particular, this means that your data will only be transferred to a country that provides an adequate level of protection (for example, because the European Commission has determined that a country provides an adequate level of protection).

Disclosure of Non-Personal Information

We may share non-personal information in aggregate form with advertisers or other organisations. Such data will contain no personally identifiable information.

Examples of such data would include the total number of doctors registered in a particular area or the average number of sessions worked by doctors in a particular area.

Email communications

We may send service updates and newsletters relating to the Locum Organiser Service or services offered by our partners to registered users via email. Email communications will contain instructions describing how the user can opt out of future mailings.

Confidentiality / Security

We provide a secure transmission method (SSL) to send us the personal data which you want us to store to provide the Service to you.

Locum Organiser is a site intended for doctors and their employers, not children. We will terminate any account coming to our attention which appears to be operated by minors.

Access to the personal data we may hold about you

All personal data stored in Locum Organiser is volunteered by the user and may be inspected or modified by the same user using the normal functions of the web site.

 

Removal of the personal data we may hold about you

By terminating your account, your data will be instantly removed from our live database unless you indicate that you do not want it to be (we may offer to keep your data for a period of time in case you wish to use our service in the future).

If you terminate your account, although your data will be removed from the live database, it may persist in offline backups of the database for a time. Eventually, as part of the administration of the web site, these will be deleted and replaced with a newer copy which does not contain your data.

If we have to restore a backup to the live server (which we would only do in the event of a system failure) we will remove your data from it as soon as practically possible (unless you have indicated that you wish us to preserve it as above).

To prevent abuse of the free trial period, the names, GMC numbers and account start dates are preserved for users. These may be checked to determine if a user has already held an account. They will be used for no other purpose.
